Lindfield East Public School is lucky enough to have several good quality sports ovals close to its campus, as well as its own sports facilities. However, we are sadly lacking the ability to accommodate other school community activities. In particular, we are currently unable to adequately service the needs of the three successful and popular bands of the school. Nor can we accommodate demand for activities like drama, small concerts and performances, or secure storage of valuable equipment. And this is not to mention future needs that will undoubtedly arise as our school and the Lindfield community continue to grow!

The Lindfield East Parents’ & Citizen’s Association believe that the current and future children of Lindfield East Public School deserve a permanent purpose-built facility to accommodate the various special interests of our children.

We are calling this project the LYREBIRD CENTRE PROJECT and our aim is to start construction as soon as a stable source of funding is achieved. To achieve that goal we invite the support of the whole community. A great way to participate is to contact the Building Fund Committee of the P&C in 2008 and volunteer your ideas and help.

In 2008 the Lyrebird Centre Building Fund was launched to set aside dedicated funds for the new building (Fund up to $70k by 2009). This fund is fund set up as a Dedicated Gift Recipient endorsed by the Australian Tax Office, and donations to the fund are tax deductible. More information on this is set out here.

The P&C wants to ensure that all funds donated to the Building Fund are clearly identified to the community, and to ensure that donors can identify tax deductibility. We have therefore had a special logo designed for us that will appear on everything endorsed by the P&C as a fund-raising activity for the LYREBIRD CENTRE PROJECT.

Where will the new Lyrebird Centre go ?

What a great idea, but how do we work together to fund it ?

We can do better than this !!

Imagine what the children can achieve here, proud families watching their children develop !

Wow, could the Lyrebird Centre forecourt really look like this !
