NEW MENU  - PRICE RISE

As a result of recent price rises we have found the need to overhaul the prices on our canteen menu.  It has been a long time since many of our items were increased, and as some of our overhead costs have risen, we feel we should be able to contribute more of our profits to the P and C, and therefore onto the school.

 Please note the following changes to menu items, commencing from THURSDAY 1 MARCH 2012

NEW LUNCH MENU ITEMS

  • Hokkein Noodles
  • Corn on the Cob

DISCONTINUED ITEMS

  • Nachos Dippers (too many accidents and high salt content)
  • Lasagne (similar ingredients to Twista Pasta, which is more popular)
  • Calippo (a less popular item)

SPECIALS

MONDAY SPECIAL      Fresh Tomato Pasta in a container for $3.50 (LUNCH ORDER only)

TUESDAY SPECIAL     Freshly made Fried Rice -

  • $2.50 (small container) - RECESS ONLY (when available)
  • $3.50 (large container) – LUNCH ORDER ONLY

WEDNESDAY SPECIAL    Sushi (teriyaki chicken, tuna or cucumber) $2.50

(LUNCH ORDER and occasionally at recess depending on orders)

Recess snacks

Mini pies and chicken tenders are no longer sold at recess (they are still available with a lunch order). Children may buy half hot cheese rolls ($1), quarter toasties (various types incl cheese, ham & tomato - 50 cents each), a slice of freshly made garlic bread (50c) and frozen fruit (pineapple, watermelon (50c each), small bag of freshly made popcorn (20c), banana bread ($1) as well as the usual variety of packet snacks, gingerbread men, bread sticks, etc.

Foreign coins

We do not accept foreign coins, and neither does the bank! These coins will be returned on the lunch order and food item/s removed from the order if this affects the total owed! Please save your coins for overseas holidays!!

Late orders

Each day we open the shutters at lunchtime to see (sometimes many) children who have forgotten to put their lunch order in. This causes all sorts of problems at the busiest time of the day, especially when we are under-staffed! Could you please remind your child to drop their order off as soon as they get to school. If the order is received after 10.15am, we will only be able to offer a choice of the following: a chicken noodle pot or a sandwich or roll. Very late lunch orders will be offered either a chicken noodle pot or a cheese roll (if available). On occasions we could also offer another hot food item such as a mini pie or chicken tender, depending on availability on the day. If your child has forgotten their lunch, the Canteen will be able to offer the same choice as for late orders.

Forgotten recess

If your child has no food for recess, we will offer them an apple slinky and/or some bread sticks. An invoice will then be sent home with the child. Prompt payment is appreciated.

Frozen items in lunch orders

Frozen items CANNOT BE ORDERED with the lunch order as they will melt before the children can eat them. Please give your child money to buy these over the counter. If your child has ordered a frozen item as part of their lunch order, we will tape their change to the order bag so they may return to the canteen to buy it later....but this is time-consuming!

 

SUSHI WEDNESDAYS

KIBOYA in Gordon continue to supply LEPS on our popular Sushi-Wednesdays!  Freshly-made sushi is offered for lunch-orders only on a WEDNESDAY  (not available any other day). 

The sushi roll will come served in quarters in a container with soy sauce, and there is a choice of Teriyaki Chicken or Tuna Sushi, and the cost is $2.50.

Depending on orders there may be a limited supply for sale at the counter at recess.
